Pat O’Connor has overall responsibility for the foundation’s health grantmaking and program activities. A seasoned health services executive, Pat is a nurse, manager, and teacher with years of financial and research expertise.

Pat has played a key role in the strategic planning process that redefined the focus and scope of The Health Foundation. Prior to joining the staff in January 1998, she assisted The ChoiceCare Foundation through an association with the Greater Cincinnati Foundation.

Pat previously served as executive director of nursing services and clinical professor of nursing at Duke University Medical Center, as adjunct professor at University of Cincinnati’s College of Nursing, and as an associate administrator at University Hospital in Cincinnati. She currently serves on the boards of the Health Policy Institute of Ohio and Cornerstone Community Loan Fund.

Pat holds Master’s Degrees in both Nursing and in Business Administration from the University of Cincinnati and a Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University.
