Social Enterprise

This workshop covers the basics of starting a social enterprise, including identifying success factors and obstacles, getting started, and developing marketing and financing strategies. If possible, organizations should send at least two people to the workshop (note: each person must register individually), as this workshop is most effective when a team of people from the same organization attend. The registration fee includes three books: The Social Enterprise Sourcebook, Migrating from Innovation to Entrepreneurship, and Boschee on Marketing. Participants will learn how to:

  • create an entrepreneurial strategic plan
  • form partnerships with corporations, small businesses, public sector agencies, and other nonprofits
  • decide what programs to expand, nurture, harvest, or discontinue
  • match organizational assets with specific market needs

Thursday, March 6 and Friday, March 7
Time:
Registration begins at 8:30 p.m.
Workshop runs from 9:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m.
Instructor: Jerr Boschee, The Institute for Social Entrepreneurs
CEUs: 5.5 per day (participants must attend both days in their entirety to receive CEUs)
