Results The McMicken Dental center opened April 4, 2001. A dedication ceremony was held on June 8, 2001. Both the Cincinnati Enquirer and the Cincinnati Post featured articles about the clinic. A full-time dental team, which is funded by a three-year HUD grant, provides services on a daily basis.

Patient statistics reported for the period of April – December 2001 include:

  • 3,275 visits for persons referred from hospital emergency rooms or urgent care center who need routine care
  • 782 visits for persons enrolled in substance abuse treat programs
  • 793 visits for patients needing emergency treatment because of pain and infection

The Dental Center also provides dental treatment for job trainees by working with local training programs: Drop Inn Center, YWCA Women’s Work Program, Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries Homeless Reintegration Program, and the Veterans Administration.
