Healthy Beginnings will partner with the Crossroad Health Center to offer prenatal and postpartum care for women who seek medical care at Crossroad. This partnership will increase the scope of services available to a high-risk population and hopefully improve pregnancy outcomes, e.g. reduce pre-term births and low birthweight babies.

Results

During the grant period, 168 patients were enrolled for services.  One hundred and two (102) patients delivered. At least half of the service target goals were met:

  • 99 % of new patients had an intake appointment within 10 days of pregnancy confirmation; 80% were actually enrolled for prenatal care during the first trimester
  • 91% of patients had a completed application for Medicaid coverage by the sixth prenatal visit
  • 81% of patients had selected a health care provider for their newborn infant

Grant funds have been properly expended.  Healthy Beginnings has recently hired a Development Director to assist with planning for clinic expansion and development of supportive services.
