The overall evaluations of the course were excellent and somewhat exceeded the course planners’ expectations.  Particular appreciation was expressed relating to skills needed to address public health practice standards.  One hundred fourteen (114) local and state public health employees attended the one week Practice-Based Epidemiology course.  Materials provided to attendees included the ActivEpi CD Rom and manual, as well as all lecture PowerPoint slides.  Of those attending the course, 74 completed the course evaluation.  Some highlights include:

  • 96% reported the program topic was of interest
  • 99% reported the material was well organized
  • 70% reported the program met their educational objectives
  • 89% reported the information presented was clear and concise
  • 88% reported their overall satisfaction as very satisfied
