  • Organizational structure completed: by-laws adopted, 501(c)(3) status approved, and permanent Board of Trustees appointed
  • Communication plan established for keeping AAHN members and supporters abreast of organizational developments
  • Participation as a study co-sponsor for the Greater Cincinnati Health Status survey
  • Receipt of city funding via the Cincinnati Health Department for $150, 000 to support continuation of the program
  • Collaboration with graduate nursing students from Xavier University and the University of Cincinnati to assist with data analysis
  • Collaborative relationships with several non-profit entities addressing community/minority health issues
  • Completion of a strategic business plan; submission of a funding request to the Cincinnati Empowerment Zone initiative for infrastructure development support

Additional Findings

The interim Board, which had primary responsibility for the planning grant activities, learned how to provide Board level of leadership in the development and coordination of the AAHN.
