The Health Foundation Awards Over $500,000 To 7 Local Organizations
The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati has awarded over $500,000 in grants to organizations throughout its 20-county service area.
"We are pleased to award grants to these valuable health organizations in Indiana, Kentucky, and Ohio," said Donald Hoffman, President and CEO. "These organizations provide a variety of services that all work toward the goal of improving access to health care, from providing mental health care in rural areas to improving substance use disorder treatment."
The Health Foundation awarded the following grants:
- $97,500 to AIDS Volunteers of Cincinnati to assist AVOC in building organizational capacity to better serve their clients (Contact: Victoria Brooks at 513-421-2437)
- $83,700 to Institute for Policy Research to expand the capabilities of the Online Analysis and Statistical Information System (OASIS) to allow users to map data using Geographic Information Systems (Contact: Mark Carrozza at 513-556-5077)
- $78,400 to Talbert House to develop infrastructure and integration of primary care services for behavioral health patients (Contact: Michael Oberdoerster at 513-751-7747)
- $70,200 to Shawnee Mental Health Center, Inc. to develop a plan to increase access to primary health care for people with severe mental illnesses in Adams, Lawrence, and Scioto Counties (Contact: Cynthia Holstein at 740-354-7702)
- $69,500 to Greater Cincinnati Behavioral Health Services to provide vocational and employment services to people with severe mental illnesses who participate in the Ticket to Work Program (Contact: Jeff Kirschner at 513-354-7500)
- $53,600 to Alcoholism Council of the Cincinnati Area, NCADD to develop a comprehensive plan for addressing the housing needs of individuals with substance use disorders in Hamilton County (Contact: Nan Franks Richardson at 513-281-7881)

The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati is an independent foundation dedicated to improving community health and access to health care for vulnerable populations. The Foundation awards grants to non-profit and governmental organizations for selected health programs and activities in Cincinnati and 20 surrounding counties in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana.
