The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati Elects New Directors, Board

Cincinnati— October 5, 2005—The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati elected two new directors to its board during its annual meeting. The new board members, who will serve three-year terms, are Michael Abrams of Cincinnati Financial Corporation and Owen Wrassman of Robert W. Baird & Co.

“The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati is fortunate to add such strong and capable people to its board of directors,” said Donald E. Hoffman, President and CEO of The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati. “These new board members bring financial expertise to the board and are dedicated to improving health status in the Foundation’s 20-county service area.”

“The board anticipates another successful year,” said John Kron, who was elected chair of the board during the annual meeting. “And, we will look to the insight of our two newest board members as we help the Health Foundation carry out its mission.”

During the annual Board of Directors meeting, the board also elected:

  • Collins Owens, Vice Chair
  • Rose Hook, Immediate Past Chair

  • Pat O’Connor, Vice President
  • Patti Ruwe, Secretary
  • Shelly Stolarczyk-George, Assistant Secretary

The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati is an independent foundation dedicated to improving community health and access to health care for vulnerable populations. The Foundation awards grants to non-profit and governmental organizations for selected health programs and activities in Cincinnati and 20 surrounding counties in Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana. In 2004, the Health Foundation invested $10.5 million to support local health care programs that address the objectives of the Foundation's four focus areas and general community health.
