The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati is continually improving its health data capabilities and resources. We help non-profits find appropriate data sources and collect and analyze their own data. We also generate local health data through surveys and host an annual health data conference.
Health Data Sources
There are many federal, state, and local government agencies who collect health data that non-profits may find useful. We have compiled a list of on-line local data resources. We also publish a Health Data Resources Directory, available both in print and on-line, which includes health data resources related to our focus areas and to general health.
If you need specific data, please contact Director, Health Data Improvement.
Local Health Data
Many of our grants generate local health data, and we share these data with other grantees and the public. Data can be accessed through the Online Analysis and Statistical Information System (OASIS).
OASIS is an innovative web-based program that puts powerful analysis tools in the hands of the general public. OASIS allows users to perform sophisticated data analysis without needing statistical software on their computers, giving users unparalleled access to data and statistics.
For more information about OASIS, or if you need specific data, please contact Director, Health Data Improvement.
Health Landscape
Health Landscape is a platform that brings together health-related information from a variety sources to answer your questions about health and healthcare. Click here for the brochure or visit http://www.healthlandscape.org.
Surveys
The Health Foundation performs a number of surveys. We are currently piloting a survey that focuses on health policy issues in the state of Ohio. We are seeking suggestions for health policy-relevant topics that would be useful to planners, public health officials, Medicaid officials, and others at the state level.
The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati’s Ohio Health Issues Poll is part of the Ohio Poll conducted March 21April 10, 2005, by the Institute for Policy Research at the University of Cincinnati. A random sample of 846 adults from throughout Ohio was interviewed by telephone.
The Greater Cincinnati Community Health Status Survey 2005 is a collaborative effort of the Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati and the Health Improvement Collaborative. This survey includes several nationally-tested indicators for benchmarking at the local, state, and national levels.
