Besides the Greater Cincinnati Community Health Status Survey, the Kentucky Health Issues Poll, and the Ohio Health Issues Poll, The Health Foundation of Greater Cincinnati has funded surveys and studies by other nonprofit organizations, including:

• Student Drug Use Survey, a project of the Coalition for a Drug-Free Greater Cincinnati, which has tracked alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use among youth in our region since 2000.
• Child Well-Being Survey, a project of the Child Policy Research Center at Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, which is a telephone survey of caregivers about children in the region. This survey also asked the caregivers what they knew about the alcohol and tobacco use of their children.

The Health Foundation has released a number of summaries from these local surveys, including:

• Alcohol and Tobacco Use: What Teens Are Doing and What Parents Know, which compares student-reported information from the Student Drug Use Survey with parent-reported information from the Child Well-Being Survey.
• Asthma Rates of Children in Households with a Smoker, according to the Survey, children whose primary caregivers smokes have a slightly higher rate of asthma (15.7%) than children whose primary caregiver does not smoke (13.3%).
• Ohioans’ Experiences with Poverty; A demographic profile of poverty in Ohio, this study shows the trends among Ohioans living in poverty including age, education, employment status, geographic regions, health status, and insurance coverage.
